AutoAware
A crash detection and emergency alert system built for Indian roads, aimed at two-wheeler riders and fleet operators. A small device in the vehicle streams motion and GPS data to a backend that confirms real impacts and scores how severe they are. It then sends SMS, voice call and push alerts with a map link to the owner, emergency contacts and fleet managers, and owners can track everything from a live web dashboard.
- ▸Co-founder & CTO: designed the custom IoT hardware (ESP32, BMI088 IMU, NEO-M8N GPS, 4G module) and led prototyping and vendor work.
- ▸Designed the device identity system: devices provisioned at the factory, signed tokens, claim codes, and a full ownership history.
- ▸Hardened the crash-to-alert pipeline: physical impact gate, severity-based alert fan-out, retries that never double-send, and a fallback if the queue goes down.
- ▸Ran a full security audit and fixed it, including auth, ownership checks and WebSocket protection, backed by 45 passing backend tests.
